Course Information
What Is ACLS: This American Heart Association course in Buford Georgia GA builds on BLS training to teach the clinical algorithms needed for Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or ACLS. Training covers procedures to recognize and manage respiratory and cardiovascular emergencies, including acute coronary syndromes.
Duration: Blended learning consists of online coursework and ~2 hour classroom session. Some classroom courses also offered which consist of at least one full day of in-classroom work.
Intended Audience: This can be taken for initial certification or recertification. Physicians, ER nurses, respiratory therapists, and advanced emergency medical personnel that would have to function in a team leader role or apply advanced resuscitation techniques for adult patients on a frequent basis.
Prerequisites: Students must have a working knowledge of cardiac rhythm interpretation, intubation/IV techniques, and advanced cardiac skills. With BLS as a prerequisite, required online work, minimal breaks and smaller class sizes, initial certification in some cases is able to be completed in one full day.
Certification: This course can be taken either in a traditional classroom setting, a self-paced blended learning setting (with some online coursework required along with an in-person skill session), or at your location. The exact same nationally recognized 2-year American Heart Association certification card is administered for each type of session.
